Hellenic Public Administration Root Certification Authority (HPARCA) certificates

Certification Authority is a trusted authority, which issues digital certificates. Digital certificates for Citizens – enrolled users of the Greek national portal “ERMIS” are digitally signed with the private key of the Root Certification Authority (CA).

Below, there are some useful links and repositories, where one may download the HPARCA and the Issuing Authority certificates as well as relevant information. Using these certificates, one can validate certificates that have been issued by HPARCA.

7. Certificate Revocation List (CRL)

Certificate Revocation list (CRL) maintains all digital certificates that have been revoked for any reason. CRLs are updated once every day.

Although most end-user application automatically check through the CRL whether a digital certificate has been revoked or not, one may also check this by examining if the serial number of a Citizen’s digital certificate exists in the respective CRL.
